Burton’s Member of Parliament, Kate Griffiths, has this week (21/03/22) launched a residents’ survey focusing on crime and the perceptions of crime in the town.
The survey asks for Burtonians’ views on crime locally and what more can be done to improve community safety. The survey can be completed on the MP’s website but a copy has also been sent to each household in Burton with a free return envelope.
The survey comes on the back of Ms Griffiths recently raising concerns about violent crime with the Prime Minister in the House of Commons and with the Home Secretary in Burton.
The Burton MP is in regular contact with local councillors, Staffordshire Police and the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner, Ben Adams, so that all community leaders work together to deal with issues affecting Burton.
The MP has stated that residents’ responses to the survey will help ensure a stronger case can be put to community leaders as well as National Government for additional resources for beating crime in Burton.
Commenting, Kate Griffiths MP said:
“The first duty of any Government is keeping people safe and maintaining law and order. Crime can significantly impact our local communities, and it is vital that residents feel safe in their homes and on our streets.
“I want to know if you and your neighbourhood have been impacted by crime in any way. Residents’ views are very important, and their input into this survey is key in enabling me to represent your concerns to the police, and put forward a stronger case for additional resources in our area.”
