I was pleased to take part in last week’s debate called by Debbie Abrahams MP to mark the UN’s Human Rights Day and the final day of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. Every campaign, every debate and every story of domestic abuse that becomes public gives strength and hope to other women, and perhaps the courage that they need to seek help.
Support from others is a crucial role in addressing gender-based violence and I am pleased that both nationally and locally we have a network of assistance for those facing domestic abuse.
