Member of Parliament for Burton and Uttoxeter, Kate Griffiths, has published her plans for the most wonderful time of the year by launching a new competition to design her 2021 Christmas card—open to local pre-school and primary school children.
The competition, which will be judged by Kate, will see the winning design used on the MP’s official 2021 Christmas card. The MP sends out a Christmas card to hundreds of people, including the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Participants, who either live or go to school in Burton, Uttoxeter, or the surrounding villages, must have been born on or after 1st September 2010. They can be as creative as they like using pencil, pen or paint etc—the only rule is no glitter!
All entries must be A4 portrait, and arrive by 12th November with their name, address and school enclosed.
Commenting, Kate Griffiths MP, said:
“I am delighted to be able to launch my 2021 Christmas card competition for Burton and Uttoxeter schoolchildren.
“Last year’s competition showed us so many wonderful designs, and gave many children a little bit of joy whilst the coronavirus pandemic meant many families and friends could not get together.
“This Christmas, I think we can all hope for a better one spent together, and I would love to see this reflected in some of the designs.
“I would encourage all pre-school and primary school children in Burton and Uttoxeter to show their artistic talents, and I look forward to viewing entries in the near future.”
