I understand the recent news of a local outbreak of Coronavirus in the Anglesey and Shobnall areas of Burton may come as a concern to residents but should not be a concern for serious alarm. The spike which appears in the data is primarily within two families that are now self-isolated and are recovering.
Staffordshire County Council are now working with East Staffordshire Borough Council as well as community and faith leaders to remind residents and local shops and businesses to follow the guidance.
They are advising the following:
“If you do have symptoms, please don’t delay in having a test. These can quickly be booked online and will help you protect your family, your friends and your community from Covid-19.”
The guidance is to:
* Wash your hands regularly
* Follow social distancing advice
* Self-isolate for seven days and book a test if you have symptoms
* Self-isolate for 14 days if you have been contacted by the NHS Test & Trace Service and told you have been in close contact with someone who has test positive
Further information on Covid-19, the symptoms and how to book a test can be found online at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/coronavirus.
Information is also available in other languages.
It is important to remember just how far we have come in tackling this virus and overall cases of COVID-19 are continuing a downward trend.
We will get through this but in the meantime we all have a part to play and together we will defeat COVID-19.
