Burton and Uttoxeter’s Member of Parliament, Kate Kniveton, has met with Harry Rodger, a Vinyl Installer for Hardy Signs, who secured his current job after attending the local MP’s Jobs Fair.
Harry attended last year’s Jobs Fair in September, hosted by Kate Kniveton at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton, and secured an interview after speaking with Managing Director and Founder of Hardy Signs, Nik Hardy.
Harry went onto be successful in his interview and has now been employed with the company for over six months, working on signage installation with specialism in vinyl products.
The local MP spoke with Harry at the company’s premises in Burton to find out about his career journey so far and how he was finding his new role.
Commenting, Kate Kniveton MP said:
“It was a real joy to meet Harry at Hardy Signs today and hear about all the opportunities that have opened up to him following attending my Jobs Fair last autumn. The Jobs Fair had a real buzz and I know those that attended found it a worthwhile experience. Harry is a real success story of this event and goes to show what a valuable opportunity it can be.
“Planning is already underway for this year’s Jobs Fair and I am keen to hear from any local businesses that might wish to be involved.
“Well done again to Harry and I wish him every success for the future!”
Harry Rodger from Hardy Signs added:
“I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity to work at Hardy Signs. I went along to Ms Kniveton’s Jobs Fair last year hoping to share a few copies of my CV with local employers.
“Living in Burton, I’ve always been aware of Hardy Signs as you see the name everywhere, but I didn’t imagine I’d ever be working full-time for such a well-known and respected place. I would wholly recommend to others in future that they attend the Jobs Fair to see what job opportunities might be open to them.”
Managing Director and Founder of Hardy Signs, Nik Hardy said:
“We were very pleased to take part in Kate’s Jobs Fair last year and were glad with how the event went and the level of interest we received. Harry has been a great addition to our team here at Hardy Signs and has learned and developed a wide range of skills since starting. We look forward to taking part in this year’s Jobs Fair and hope to see many others there too.”
