Kate Griffiths has today (18th May 2022) welcomed Burton Town Brewery Manager, Steve Haynes, to Westminster to see the local brewer’s beer Albion on tap at the Strangers’ Bar in Parliament.
The Strangers’ Bar in Parliament regularly sees guest ales and ciders from across the UK on sale, providing small and microbreweries with a platform to highlight their products and the diversity of the country’s brewing industry.
Kate awarded Steve with an official All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group certificate in recognition of Burton Town Brewery’s achievement and to commemorate the occasion.
Commenting, Kate Griffiths MP said:
“Burton is the capital of British brewing and Burton Town Brewery is a key local landmark in our area. Seeing our local breweries in the national spotlight is incredibly prestigious and a real credit to the dedication Steve and his team put into brewing such an excellent and hugely popular beer.
“I was delighted Steve was able to make the trip down to Westminster to see Burton Town’s Albion beer on sale in the House of Commons and to present him with a certificate to mark the occasion.”
Burton Town Brewery Manager, Steve Haynes added:
“It was a real honour and privilege to see Albion on tap in the Strangers’ Bar today. Not every brewer can say their beer has been on sale in the UK Parliament and with Burton Town Brewery continuing to grow, this is another first for us.
“Thank you to Kate for organising and giving us a platform as we look forward to expanding our very successful local business.”
