His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, devoted his life to the service of our nation, and was a constant support to Her Majesty The Queen throughout her reign. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme is part of the incredible legacy that he leaves behind – and it is a fitting tribute that it will continue to inspire so many young people in the future. He was a much loved public figure but above all else he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be hugely missed. My thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen, and all the family, at this very sad time.
