Burton and Uttoxeter’s Member of Parliament, Kate Griffiths, has revealed the winner of her 2021 Christmas card competition.
The annual competition encourages primary and pre-school children to design the MP’s official Christmas card, and is judged by Kate herself.
This year’s winner is Arthur Hull from John of Rolleston Primary School with his card design of a black and white sketch of a reindeer with a Rudolf-like red nose.
Kate sends out a Christmas card to hundreds of people, including the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Following the announcement of a winner, Kate Griffiths showed the chosen design to the PM who thought it was “very impressive”.
This year’s runners-up are Keeley Wallman from River View Primary & Nursery School; Lucas Newton from William Shrewsbury Primary School; and Bethan Phillips from Shobnall Primary School.
Commenting, Kate Griffiths MP, said:
“Once again, I am blown away by the creative talent of school children in Burton and Uttoxeter—it does not make for an easy decision when it comes to picking a winner.
“I was really taken by Arthur’s design, as was the Prime Minister, who found the drawing ‘very impressive’!
“Well done to Arthur, the runners-up and to all those who took part!”
