Local Member of Parliament, Kate Kniveton, has today (23rd March 2023) met with Year 5 pupils of Winshill Village Primary & Nursery School to take part in a Q&A session with them.
Ms Kniveton previously received a letter from the School’s Year 5 class following project work they had done on democracy, the local community and how they could make a difference in their area.
Mr Worth, the School’s Year 5 teacher, arranged for Ms Kniveton to visit the school and take part in a Q&A session, which the local MP took a range of questions from the inquisitive pupils. Ms Kniveton has already raised a number of the issues the pupils mentioned, including littering, with the leadership of East Staffordshire Borough Council.
Ms Kniveton also met with School Headteacher, Chris Gaffiney, as part of the visit to hear about what they are doing as a school to support the local community.
Commenting, Kate Kniveton MP said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to visit Winshill Village Primary & Nursery School today and meet with the Year 5 pupils. From the questions they asked, they are clearly very interested in their local community and making a difference to where they live and play.”
“I want to thank Mr Worth and Mr Gaffiney for today’s visit and I wish them and their pupils an enjoyable, and much-earned, Easter break.”
Year 5 Teacher, Mr Worth said:
“We were thrilled to have Kate Kniveton MP with us in school today, meeting with our year 5 pupils and talking their questions.
“Over recent weeks we have been doing work on our local community and have really enjoyed today’s opportunity to hear from Ms Kniveton about her role as our local Member of Parliament.”
