Burton Member of Parliament, Kate Kniveton has today (09/11/23) visited Beeches Park Nursery in the town to meet with staff and children following their multiple achievements in the Nursery World Awards 2023.
The local nursery on Eastern Avenue received national recognition as it won the Online and Social Media Award in this year’s Nursery World Awards scheme and was also Highly Commended in the Pre-school of the Year category. Following the national finals ceremony, the local MP wrote to the Nursery to congratulate them on their awards and in return was invited to visit.
Ms Kniveton met with the Nursery’s owner Abby, Director of Nursery Operations, Louise, Nursery Manager, Lottie, Deputy Manager, Rachael, Marketing Manager, Helen, and other members of the team as well as the children in their care that day. The local MP was shown around the facilities of the Nursery and observed their approach and ethos for Early Years education. Following the tour, the MP and the nursery leadership team also had a discussion about the current issues facing the Early Years sector and how Ms Kniveton might be able to help.
Beeches Park Nursery recently showcased vacancies at the local MP’s popular Jobs Fair, where they were advertising for new members of staff and it was great to hear that as a direct result of the Jobs Fair a new member of staff had recently started at the nursery.
Commenting, Kate Kniveton MP said:
“It was lovely to meet with the staff and children of Beeches Park Nursery today and to be able to congratulate the team on their incredible achievements at this year’s Nursery World Awards.
“The Early Years sector has its current challenges, and I will do all I can to help but it was good to discuss these with the Beeches Park team and know that locally we have award-winning providers of nursery care.”
