Local Member of Parliament, Kate Kniveton, is to host her annual Jobs Fairs next month at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton. The event will take place on Thursday 28th September between 10am – 3pm and follows on from last year’s Jobs Fair which advertised over 2,130 local job vacancies.
There will be a wide range of businesses and employers taking part with this year’s event being sponsored by JCB, Kammac Limited and Cosy Direct, organisations which are also showcasing their own job opportunities at the event.
Representatives from the local branch of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Job Centre will also be available for CV and interview workshops to improve participants’ employability chances.
For residents of Uttoxeter, free transport will be put on by Burton Albion Community Trust to enable Ms Kniveton’s constituents in the neighbouring town to travel back and forward to the event for free.
Commenting, Kate Kniveton MP said:
“I am delighted to announce this year’s Jobs Fair, connecting local employers to potential employees. Last year’s event was a big success with thousands of job opportunities on offer to local residents.
“I want to thank those involved in the preparations for this year’s event including Burton’s Job Centre, the sponsors JCB, Kammac and Cosy along with Burton Albion Community Trust who will be putting on transport for residents in Uttoxeter.
“I encourage all those locally to come down to the Pirelli Stadium on 28th September and see what your next career move could be!”
