Burton and Uttoxeter’s Member of Parliament, Kate Griffiths, has today (Wednesday 31st March) visited a local Covid-testing site based at Hillfield House in Stretton, Burton.
The community testing site, which is managed by Staffordshire County Council and the NHS, is specifically for people without symptoms of coronavirus—such as a high temperature, a new and continuous cough, and/or a loss of taste and smell.
Kate met with Team Leader, Jon Arrowsmith, at the Hillfield House site, along with Nurse, Jo Inwood, and other volunteers. During her visit there, Kate took a test herself and received a negative result within the 30-minute time frame expected for results.
Kate Griffiths MP said:
“It was great to pop along to the Covid-19 community testing site in Stretton today, and to see for myself just how well organised they are. I want to thank Jon and his dedicated team who have worked so hard to get this up and running, and to keep it running—day in, day out.
“Even if you do not have Covid-19 symptoms, it is really important that we all get tested regularly, especially now with the easing of lockdown. It is vital that we do all we can to help break the chain of infection, and stop the spread of the virus from those who are asymptomatic.
“I would encourage all Burton and Uttoxeter residents to get tested and get tested regularly.”
Tests are available on a daily basis between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. No appointment necessary.
