Kate Griffiths MP has met with local business owners at the Craythorne Courtyard to speak with them about how they have been getting on since reopening after lockdown and how the Government’s support to the retail and hospitality sectors has directly helped them.
Kate spoke with the owners of The Cellar Door Café, The Blossom Branch Florist, Craythorne Farm Shop, Chrissy’s Crafts, Orchard House Patisserie and Debby’s Patch Haberdashery to also speak to them about their thoughts on the future direction of the economy.
Kate said, “It is great to hear what a big help support measures like the furloughing scheme and Eat Out to Help Out have been. Obviously, the economy still has some way to go but it has been heartening to see a strong resilience amongst local entrepreneurs and how they are adapting their businesses to the times.
I have a lot to share with the Chancellor when I am back in Westminster following today’s visits but I would urge everyone locally to support their local businesses and our high streets during what continues to be a difficult period for them.”
Vanessa Brown from the Craythorne Courtyard said, “Craythorne Courtyard has grown over the last few years and together we are a really lovely collection of local shops and businesses. This has obviously been a difficult time for us as it has for many in retail but we are very grateful for the support the local community has shown us over the past few months.”
