Burton and Uttoxeter’s Member of Parliament, Kate Kniveton, has today (02/02/2023) met with the new Commander of East Staffordshire’s local policing team, Detective Chief Inspector Dan Ison. DCI Ison took up the post in January following the promotion of his predecessor, Clair Langley.
On his appointment, DCI Ison highlighted how he wanted the Police to be ‘visible in their local communities’ and for the public to have confidence in the local policing team to not only take up issues but prevent them from happening in the first place.
The local MP and Police Commander met to discuss a variety of issues and to ensure residents’ concerns with crime are addressed appropriately, including tackling knife crime.
Commenting, Kate Kniveton MP said:
“It was good to welcome DCI Ison to my office today and to congratulate him on his new role as Commander of our local policing team.
“We discussed a number of community issues and efforts to tackle crime and ensure safer streets locally. I thanked his team for the ongoing work they are doing to end the scourge of knife crime and to provide confidence in the Police across East Staffordshire.
“I wish Clair Langley well in her new role and look forward to working with DCI Ison in keeping Burton safe.”
