This week it has really felt like the seasons are changing. From the weather turning cooler, leaves falling from the trees and the nights drawing in. For many people, this can also mean a struggle to get up in the mornings ahead of going to work. In the recruitment world, the ‘September surge’ is the phrase coined for the noticeable increase in people looking for a change of direction and a new job at this time of year following the summer holidays.
I am pleased to be hosting my annual Jobs Fairs next Thursday (28th September) between 10am – 3pm at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton. There will once again be a wide range of businesses and employers taking part, so whether you are looking for a job or fancy a new challenge, there is a good chance there is something to interest everyone.
As part of the event, representatives from the local branch of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Job Centre will also be available for CV and interview workshops to improve participants’ employability chances.
For residents of Uttoxeter, free transport will be put on by Burton Albion Community Trust to enable constituents in the neighbouring town to travel back and forth to the event for free. If you would like to book a return trip either in the morning or afternoon, please let me know by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01283 384026.
I want to thank those involved in the preparations which have made this year’s event possible. This includes Burton’s Job Centre and the sponsors JCB, Kammac and Cosy. Come down to the Pirelli Stadium on Thursday and see what your next career move could be!
